A BUS of the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) went up in flames in the Sola area of Ahmedabad on Monday morning.
The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) received the call at about 8 am on Monday and a team from Thaltej fire station reached the spot just outside Vivanta hotel.
However, by then the flames had been doused due to the efforts of local residents and staff from the hotel who used a hose from the hotel premises and sprayed the bus with water, said Fire Station Officer (STO) Amarsinh Baria.
The firefighters then carried out cooling of the burned husk of the vehicle. The officer confirmed that all passengers and staff managed to safely exit the burning vehicle.
