A street food vendor has been arrested in Ghaziabad’s Loni after a woman alleged that she was abused and threatened when she confronted the seller on finding a bone in the vegetable biryani she had purchased from him.
Rashid alias Rahul (28), a resident of the 100-foot road near Neelam Factory, was arrested on December 24.
Police said the incident took place a day earlier near the 80-Foot road, close to Neelam Factory.
The woman, Tannu Sharma, had got two plates of vegetable biryani packed from a roadside stall, RK Biryani. While eating at home, she allegedly found a piece of bone in the biryani.
Following this, she returned to the stall along with her husband to confront the vendor.
In her statement to police, the woman said that when she confronted the vendor, he abused her and threatened to kill her.
A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the couple handing over the biryani to the shopkeeper, saying, “Veg biryani mein haddi mili hai (there is a bone in the veg biryani).”
